-Sequoya Borgman
Founder and CEO, Borgman Capital
Overview
Borgman Capital acquired three founder-owned material handling companies in a proprietary deal and combined them under Material Handling Holdings LLC (MHH). MHH offers ergonomic solutions that improve productivity and protect workers and their work environments, including lift tables, tilting products and moto-carts. Over the five-year hold period, Borgman Capital worked with management to realize operating efficiencies and position MHH as a turnkey, vertically-integrated platform with multiple avenues for future growth.
Value Creation
Created a Hybrid, Vertically-Integrated Model
The evolution of MHH’s go-to-market strategy (i.e. products manufactured in-house, private label, and drop ship) played a pivotal role in the top and bottom-line growth of the company.
Boosted Online Sales Platforms
MHH possessed a robust online sales model with one of the most established digital B2B lead generation models in its product segment. A total of seven websites were utilized to strategically drive sales leads.
Consultative Sales Approach
A consultative sales approach differentiates MHH - guiding customers from problem to solution, resulting in customer stickiness and reoccurring sales.
Invested in In-House Manufacturing Capabilities
MHH invested in upgrades to the manufacturing facility and improved standard operating procedures. MHH consistently evolved its product offering in the form of add-ons to existing products or newly developed products.
Transaction Outcome
Borgman Capital successfully exited to Ballymore Safety Products, a portfolio company of Graycliff Partners.
