Position Description

Borgman Capital is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate in its downtown Milwaukee office. Candidate should have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, a superior work ethic and attitude and a track record of success in previous employment positions. The Associate or Senior Associate plays a crucial role in evaluating private equity investment opportunities, assisting with deal execution and supporting Borgman Capital’s portfolio companies.

Job Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed financial models to assess new deal opportunities through sensitivity analysis of cost structures, business performance, and capital structures

  • Support all aspects of transaction due diligence including coordinating with legal, accounting and other professionals

  • Review new opportunities with senior Borgman Capital investment professionals

  • Contribute ideas and offer a fresh perspective on acquisitions

  • Draft offering memoranda for investment opportunities

  • Aid existing investment monitoring efforts, including the identification of key performance metrics and preparation of board meeting materials

  • Contribute to post-acquisition transition such as treasury management, accounting services, and insurance carriers

  • Cultivate relationships to source potential acquisition targets and help drive business development efforts

  • Support capital raising activities

  • Maintain, update, and analyze portfolio company data

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or other quantitative-focused field of study

  • Two to five years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate finance or transaction advisory services

  • Capacity to prioritize responsibilities as part of a lean team managing multiple workstreams

  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills

  • Ability to prepare and communicate succinct presentations summarizing key takeaways of new investment opportunities

  • A strong work ethic and deep sense of accountability

  • Eager to network and build external business relationships

  • Ability to travel as needed to management meetings, board meetings, etc.
